This paper examines the development of novel biodegradable nanocomposite materials for biodegradable films. Spcifically this paper will examine material development through blend optimisation, nanocomposite addition, rheological understandings and film blowing scale up trials for low cost biodegradable mulch films. This research has been developed through collaborations and sponsorhip in the Cooperative Research Centre for International Food Manufacture and Packaging Science (CRC IFMPS) and with Plantic Technologies Ltd.
