In this study, joining method between aluminum sheet and Carbon fiber reinforced thermo-plastics (CFRTP) sheet using high frequency induction heating without rivet or adhesion bond are discussed. In this joining method, Carbon fibers are contributed to joining by processing a 1 mm square anchor on metal plate. In this paper, relationship of molding time and joining strength was evaluated by tensile shear test and optimization of joining condition was performed. Shortening of molding time was tried by molding load division as parameter. Optimal condition was considered by evaluating joining strength and joining surface. From this result, joining time to maintain a good joining surface was about 200 s. Next, joining strength was evaluated when tensile load was applied at side face of anchor(s). In this case, 2 patterns of anchor’s deformation occurred by applying joining load. It’s assumed that joining strength was affected by these deformations. Distribution of joining strength was obtained by assessing the effect of deformation. Joining strength S L in case of increasing the number of anchors Lines was decreased by about 5×L % as Lines increase due to metal sheet peeling. Joining strength in case of increasing the number of anchor Columns was approximated by using von Mises yield criterion because effect of shear deformation was confirmed to root of anchors. Joining strength could be predicted with the total of joining strength of each anchor position determined by distribution of joining strength. Also, improvement of joining strength was aimed by putting anchors alternately to suppress peeling of anchors. Satisfactory joining part obtained because peeling of metal sheet didn’t occur. When metal sheet was A5052 and anchors layout 4×4 alternatively, joining strength was about 25 MPa. This joining method was assumed that desired joint strength could be obtained depending on the selected metal sheet because joining strength was depended by metal sheet.
