Experimental and numerical simulation study of bubble nucleation, growth, dissolution, and re-nucleation of batch physical foaming process

A numerical simulation model of bubble nucleation, growth, dissolution, and re-nucleation based on our previous study was developed. The bubble growth equation was slightly modified to account for the reverse concentration gradient when the bubble is dissolved by the external pressure. The classical nucleation model and integrated bubble growth model could predict the experimental data of bubble density and bubble size. This simulation model can be applied to the foam injection molding.
