Effect of the ambient temperature on the interaction parameter between rubber and diisodecyl adipate (DIDA), as a plasticizer, was evaluated by the measurements of swell ratio in DIDA at various temperature. It was found that the swell ratios of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) in DIDA and ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) in DIDA were higher than that of butyl rubber (IIR) in DIDA at -20 oC and vice versa at 50 oC. This is attributed to the difference in the temperature sensitivity of interaction parameters between each rubber and DIDA.
