In this work, poly (acid lactic)-clay nanocomposites were prepared by melt method. Five Different nanoclays were used: Nanomer I.30E, Dellites 43B and 67G, and Nanoline DK2 and DK5. The compatibility of these nanoclays with PLA and their dispersion in this matrix were evaluated by determinate the interaction parameter and by XRD analysis. The results reported by XRD analysis and by values of interaction parameter shown that the difference of the type and amount of used modifiers in each nanoclay affected the dispersion and compatibility of these nanoclays with PLA. Indeed, the nanoclays D43B, DK2 and DK5 that have as benzyl hydrogenated, bis-2-hydroxyethyl and carboxyl group in their modifier structure; respectively; were presented a better dispersion and a better improvement in the properties of PLA than that D67G and I.30E.
