Ultramid® Flex F was launched by BASF in 2017. It is a partially biobased copolyamide sourced from rapeseed oil and offers unique properties. Due to its distinctive chemical structure, Ultramid® Flex F exhibits more apolar characteristics compared to polar polyamides such as PA6 and PA66. As a result, water uptake, dimensional stability, and chemical resistance of Ultramid® Flex F are improved. In this study, various properties of Ultramid® Flex F such as moisture uptake, mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and rheological properties are evaluated. Moreover, effects of impact modifiers and plasticizers on the final properties of the Ultramid® Flex F compounds are thoroughly investigated.
