Because of biocompatibility and biodegradation of polylacticacid, it is
one of the most important polymers in medical industry. , but However,
it is brittle nature characteristics has restricted its usage in manyvarious
applications. The main goal of this paper is
utilization of soybean oil as toughener phase and Nanoclay particles to
improve impact resistance of mentioned nanocomposite. To achieve
this goal, nanocomposite samples with different percent of soybean
oil and Nanoclay was fabricated by melt processing. To
investigate the morphology and microstructure of prepared samples,
Rheometry, Scanning electron microscopy, Dynamic Mechanical Thermal
Analysis ,Differential Scanning Calorimetry, and mechanical tests were
performed. The results show that soybean oil and poly-lactic acid are
partly compatible, but in high soybean oil percentage, obtained alloys
has two phases and matrix-dispersion morphology. Furthermore, it has
been observed that Nanoclay particles have high thermodynamic
tendency to soybean oil. In order to capsulate a larger
portion of nanoparticles in soybean oil droplets, they were mixed using
a mechanical mixer at temperature about 60°C. Then the obtained
mixture of Nanoclay and soybean oil was mixed with poly lactic acid.
Mechanical tests showed that fabricated nanocomposites
