The different types of materials that can be used for most Additive Manufacturing (AM) process are limited and current the PA12 and PA11 are the lords of the mark. EOS is working in different technical solutions to increase the number of applied materials, the area of applications and the users respectively. The innovative powder generation technical center at EOS opens up new opportunities to develop novel plastic materials for powder-bed-based AM technologies. The work discusses new options for product design, development, and later production that are enabled to support AM world in the future. We start with basic material requirements, mention the possible ways to produce fine polymer powder and discuss the most influencing parameters on AM system. The aim is to show too, how EOS can support the AM users to find and apply successful new applications to his industry with efficient and innovative solutions. Different and novel ways for development and manufacture of products at EOS technical center give also chance to build up completely new customer relationships to discuss and establish development strategies.
