Geothermal systems has been encountered scaling problem such as carbonates, silicates, and sulfides. Recent developments show that antimony sulfide scaling (Sb2S3) appears in various fields all around the world. In this study, we plan to develop polymeric inhibitors to prevent formation of such type of scaling not only in geothermal but also in petroleum fields. Sb2S3 is synthetically obtained in the lab starting from SbCl3 and Na2S at ambient conditions. The resulting product was characterized by X-Ray diffraction method. Water soluble polymeric agents which have organic functional group such as amine, carboxylic acid, and hydroxyl groups will be tested in the model reaction.
