Fleece fabric is used to create functional clothing, bedding, and interior materials based on its soft touch feel, superior fitting, lightweight, and thermal resistance. The purpose of this study was to develop methods for multi-hole filament with a high void ratio, characterize its properties and apply to fabrics. For this purpose, we studied the filament manufacturing process and investigated its properties through scanning electron microscopy(SEM), differential thermal analysis(DSC), single fiber material property detector (Textechno), compression recovery tester and performed a comparative analysis of the mechanical properties. The PET filament with multi-hole structure was successfully fabricated by high-speed melt spinning process, and void ratio was controlled by spinning speed, cooling temperature and nozzle type. In addition, the result of elastic resistance of fleece fabric was significantly higher than a fabric with common circular filament fibers.
