Synthesis of Functionalized Carbon Quantum Dots and Their Cross-Linked Carboxy Nitrile Rubber

Carbon quantum dots(CQDs)are a new class of carbon nanomaterials with sizes below 10 nm that recently attracted wide attention because of their strong fluorescence. Most of the current researches focus on the luminescent properties of carbon dots and their applications in biological area.In this work,we synthesized N-dope carbon quantum dots(N-CQD)by microwave assisted pyrolysis, and subsequent surface vinylation. Functionalized carbon quantum dots were prepared by Acrylic acid(AA),N,N-diethyl-Acrylamide(DEA),and polymerizable carbon nanodots(PCQDs) via free radical polymerization, finding its multistimuli-responsive property. In addition, cross-linked carboxy nitrile copolymer with carbon dots were also synthesized by heating method. The cross-linked rubber film shows good strength and fluorescence properties.
