Recently, Several studies have shown achievement of Electronic Paper Display(EPD) and Colored polymer particles, and EPD has been of great interest for applications in information displays. EPD has many advantages such as high electrical efficiency, high flexibility and wide viewing angle. Colored polymer particles(PMMA) can be produced by dispersion polymerization and the surface of PMMA particles are modified by aminolysis. The manufacturing process of colored particles is, when the aprticles swell by the solvent, the dyes enter the particles. After the particles are dried, the dyes do not go out of the particle but stay. Finally, characteristics of the colored particles are as follows. The particle surface modification was confirmed by SEM, and the absorbance was confirmed using a UV/VIS spectrometer. Thermal properties were evaluated using TGA and DSC.
