For several polymers the Power Law Fluid approximation does not accurately describe the melt flow behavior. In these cases the Carreau Fluid generally leads to a more accurate description of the flow behavior. This paper will compare results of flow rate calculations using the Power Law fluid and the Carreau fluid using analytical solutions for both these fluids.
