Conducting polymers such as polyaniline were poly(o-phenylenediamine) were used to prepare polymer-carbon nanocomposites using green solvents, such as supercritical carbon dioxide and ionic liquid. They have been used in catalysts and sensors. Block co-polymers were also synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) in ionic liquids or supercritical cabon dioxide.
