Abstract: In this article a series of polyethylene/ polystyrene/graphene oxide (PE/PS/GO) nanocomposite were prepared by melt mixing method and their morphology and mechanical properties were investigated as a function of GO content. SEM images and X-ray diffraction data confirm that the dispersion of GO platelets dependent to the mixing condition. Tensile drawing experiments demonstrate that yielding strength and initial modulus of PE/PP/GO nanocomposite films are highly improved with the increment of GO content compared to PE/PS blend. The nanocomposites exhibited noticeable improvement in thermal stability in comparison to pure PE/PS blend.
