ABSTRACT
We report the synthesis of polythiophene (PTh)/graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposites by In situ polymerization of thiophene monomer in the presence of graphene oxide (GO) nanoparticles at different Th to GO ratio. Characterizations have been done using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scaning electron microscopy (SEM). FTIR characterization demonstrated that polythiophene synthesized successfully in the presence of GO. Morphological characterization using XRD analysis also demonstrated that polythiophene changes penetrated into the space of GO plates and intercalated structure of nanocomposite created. Electrical conductivity measurement using q-point prob analysis showed marked improvements in at electrical conductivity of PTh/Go nanocomposite compared to pure PTh and Go.
