Influence of Polythiophene on the Optical and Electrical Properties of PMMA Composites

In this article poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) - polythiophene (PTh) nanocomposite were prepared by in situ chemical polymerization. For this propose polythiophene nanoparticleswere prepared using chemical oxidative polymerization of thiophene monomer and use as filler.Final optical and electrical properties of their final nanocomposites were investigated by 4-point probe analysis. It was found that electrical conductivity of PMMA-PTh nanocomposites depends to the PTh concentration. when the concentration of PTh was 0.5-3 vol.% specific electrical conductivity existing observed for PMMA-PTh composites. The final result show that electrical and optical properties of nanocomposites were slightly increased by the addition of PTh concentration. UV-Visible analysis showed transparency of final nanocomposite did not affected sharply by addition of PTh nanocomposites. Keywords: Nanocomposite, Polythiophene, Optical and electrical properties
