Interphase Transfer of Third Component in Immiscible Polymer Blends

Nanofillers and liquid compounds in immiscible polymer pairs move from one polymer to another through the boundary by Brownian motion. The interphase transfer of a third component in immiscible polymer blends can be used to control the distribution state of the third component in each phase. Furthermore, the direction of the interphase transfer is decided by the difference in the interfacial tension between a polymer and the third component, which is dependent upon the ambient temperature for some systems. This mutual transfer will be employed as a new method of material design, in which the properties and functionality can be modified by the ambient temperature.
