We first prepared gold nanoparticles having polystyrene (PS) tethered chains, and composites consisting of PS-b-poly(n-pentyl methacrylate) copolymer (PS-b-PnPMA) and gold nanoparticles. PS-b-PnPMA has excellent "baroplasticity" that the ordered microdomains are easily transformed into disordered state even when a relatively low pressure is applied. Gold particles are first sequestered intro the PS lamellar microdomains due to the selective attraction of PS-tethered chain and PS blocks. However, when a pressure was applied, the gold particles are well dispersed. This technique could be used for the fabrication of the nanocircuit array.
