Bottom ash from municipal solid waste incineration has been used as a filler for different polymers: polyethylene, polypropylene and poly(vinyl chloride) in order to produce sustainable polymer based composites from waste recycling. Polymer-filler composites containing different filler amounts have been formulated and prepared by means of melt compounding process. Structural, morphological, mechanical and thermal characterization of their properties has been performed highlighting remarkable enhancements of tensile and flexural moduli, together with enhancements of flexural resistance and deflection temperature under load.
