Synthesis of semi-aromatic Polyamide PA6/6T by Reactive Extrusion Processing

In this contribution, we synthesized PrePA6/6T in an autoclave from 6T nylon salt and caprolactam. PA6/6T was manufactured with the dried PrePA6/6T by reactive extrusion processing technology. Compared with solid-state polymerization, the technology of reactive extrusion processing had advantages of short reaction time and high conversion rate. We studied the effects of screw rotate speed and residence time distribution on polymer reactive extrusion processing. The PA6/6T had the better comprehensive properties. The melting points of the PA6/6T was between 295-300℃. The tensile strength, flexural strength and unnotched impact strength of the pure PA6/6T were between 70-90 Mpa、100-120 Mpa and30-40.0KJ/m2, respectively.
