This work aimed to investigate foam morphology of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) blended with the modified ethylene (vinyl acetate) (mEVA) and reactive compatibilizer, ethylene-glycidyl methacrylate copolymer (E-GMA). The PLA/mEVA with blend ratio of 70/30 wt% compounded with various compatibilizer contents of 0, 5, 10 and 15 phr was prepared in a co-rotating twin-screw extruder with screw speed of 30 rpm. Mechanical property of the blends was studied by the dynamic mechanical analysis while blended foam morphology that produced by batch foaming process by using a scCO2 as a foaming agent was characterized by SEM. Finally, isotropic index was calculated to identify perfect or imperfect isotropic foam property.
