The effects of extent of miscibility on crystalline morphology of PVDF in poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)/acrylic rubber(ACM) blends over the whole composition range were investigated. FTIR study showed that PVDF crystallizes in α form in the blends. Dendritic spherulites were observed for the miscible blends as well as for the ACM rich phase in partially miscible blends. But neat PVDF and PVDF rich phase showed spherulite crystals with lamellar splay texture displaying a clear Maltese cross extinction pattern under cross polarization. The observed Dual Lamellar structure was in agreement with the two peaks observed in SAXS profiles of partially miscible blends, suggesting dual lamellar crystal structure.
