Multimodal Polyethylene grades with a high molecular weight and wide molecular weight distribution can be used to special applications and more suitable for extrusion and processes to manufacture pipes and films. In the present work, polymer blends were fabricated by mixing five grades of polyethylene with different weight percent of high and medium density polyethylene's using twin screw extruder. A series of standard tests, MFI, Density, tensile, impact, and ESCR were carried out on the prepared samples it was found that the addition of high molecular weight high density polyethylene to the medium density polyethylene leads to decrease in the flowability and elongation at break and increase in the density, tensile strength, Izod impact strength and ESCR. For the impact test it was found that the addition of high MFI polyethylene caused an increase in the impact strength of the material, the polymer blend with 50 % wt of low MFI polyethylene show the optimum values for physico- mechanical properties.
