The range of applications for micro injection molding is growing steadily because of its high volume manufacturing capabilities. In relation to the growing industrial demands and an expanding processing diversity, new challenges appear. Influences from material, processing and its equipment are getting stronger. The use of processing simulation is a suitable method in the design of components and processes, but limited by the specific effects of micro scaled parts. In this study the morphology development was investigated for micro injection molded semi-crystalline parts. In combination with a variation in the processing setup (through experimental design, DoE), a micro tensile test and process simulation, the resulting morphology is linked to the mechanical properties.
