Electrical conductivities of melt spun PMMA/aligned carbon fibers/carbon black fiber composites

In this study, percolation thresholds of ternary composites of PMMA/CF/CB as well as PMMA/CF and PMMA/CB composites were investigated [1]. A conductivity contour plot for PMMA/CF/CB composites is presented for the first time. Moreover, a novel equation for predicting the electrical conductivity of composites containing two kinds of conductive fillers was proposed, showing results close to corresponding experimental data. Our work comprise also systematic measurements of tensile strength for the PMMA/CB/CF composites. A novel and significantly improved effective-media equations for conductive three-component composites is given.
