In this paper, the injection processing parameter of long glass fiber reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS/LGF) composite was optimized. Then composite with different fiber content was prepared and the effect of glass fiber on the mechanical properties was evaluated. It was found that when the temperature of the first heating section was higher than the melting point of PPS, the mechanical performance of the composite was significantly improved. When the temperatures of the heating sections were 315OC, 320OC and 315OC, optimum comprehensive mechanical property of the composite was obtained. Under this situation, tensile strength, flexural strength and flexural modulus nearly linearly increased with the increase of fiber content. The tensile, flexural and impact strength of the composite with 40 wt% fiber were 154 MPa, 250 MPa, 13 KJ/m2 respectively. In addition, the results of Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) showed that storage modulus and loss modulus of the composites obviously increased with the increase of fiber content under the optimized injection molding temperatures.
