The Designed and Experiment of New Type Smart Damper

In the paper, based on one phenomenon that the damping and rigidity of ERE will change applied external electric field. Using the piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramics harvesting vibration energy to generate electric field, and then designed a kind of smart absorber that can no need external power supply device to electronic control adjust the damping and rigidity of ERE and realization self-powered vibration attenuation. Also, we make some correlation experiment and analysis for vibration responses characteristics of the damper under different electric controls and excited amplitudes. Experimental results show that the device can effectively regulate the structural damping and realization a certain damping effect.
