The object of the research is the obtention and characterization of polymer nanocomposites for electromagnetic shielding. In recent years, mainly due to the advancement in the field of information and telecommunications technologies, electromagnetic interference has become responsible for a new environmental problem, the electromagnetic pollution. This invisible pollution is a growing problem, especially in large urban centers, due to the proliferation of equipment and mobile electronic devices, such as cell phones, laptops and tablets. There is therefore a need to find new shielding materials for a wide variety of applications. Nanocomposite materials based on carbon nanoparticles could be an interesting candidate for that purpose. However, the difficulty in dispersing carbon nanoparticles is a limiting factor for nanocomposite industrial applications. To seek to overcome this limitation, nanocomposites based on poly (styrene-b-ethylene-ran-butylene-b-styrene) (SEBS) and carbon nanoparticles have real good application potential. Therefore, this work aims at developing SEBS/carbon nanoparticles nanocomposites. The nanocomposites are characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), rheological analysis, electrical conductivity, and electromagnetic shielding measurements.
