Researchers and developers always aim to predict the complete process chain as well as the structural properties of continuous fiber reinforced plastic parts. Therefore the material properties have to be considered as well as the process steps. To manufacture a structural component, the semi-finished product has to be heated, shaped and consolidated. The influence of the heating process to the matrix properties and thus to the part properties has not been taken into account, yet. Based on the in-situ heating system, developed by IKT, which uses the joule effect, the influence of the heating process on the mechanical properties of continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic parts is shown.
