Sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) were blended with Poly(trimellitic anhydride chloride-co-4,4'-methylenedianiline) (PTCMA), Sulfonated polyether imide (SPEI) and Poly(2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) (PAMPS). Membranes were prepared by casting method on a pre-cleaned glass plate using an automated casting knife. Influence of second polymers on water uptake, methanol permeability, ion exchange capacity (IEC), and proton exchange capacity have been investigated. The results showed that the some blend membranes have slightly better IEC, water uptake and methanol crass over properties as compare to pure SPEEK1.6. However, proton conductivity does not show any significant changes even in different temperature in flooded condition.Surface and cross section morphology were investigated by FESEM and thermal properties was studied by TGA. Homogeneous morphology was observed and showed expected thermal behavior.
